Negative Space

This piece is about negative space. I masked off the centre of the canvas and then let everything happen around it: black and red splatter, grey drips pulled sideways across the surface. When I lifted the mask, the paint had bled into the edges of the empty circle. The quiet in the middle is shaped by the chaos around it.

A stark palette of black, red and grey on white.
